As the title suggests, we are hiring!
If you've been with us for a little while, I'm sure you've seen our uptick in community initiatives since Major League Hacking (MLH) acquired DEV earlier this year. We've been working hard behind the scenes to bring new opportunities to the community and give a fresh spin to previous programs.
We're now at a point where we need help optimizing and scaling up everything we do, while ensuring the platform remains a special place. That said, we are looking to hire a full-time, remote Community Program Manager based in the United States that cares deeply about community.

Thanks for sharing, PB&J! The work DEV + MLH have been doing since the acquisition has been noticeable β more challenges, more community energy. It's great to see.
I have a couple of quick questions before I apply:
Remote outside the US β The post mentions "US-based role." Is that strictly required for legal/tax reasons, or would exceptional candidates from other time zones (with significant overlap to ET) be considered? I know many dev communities are global.
Technical depth β You mentioned "AI fluency" and "basic familiarity with GitHub." Could you share an example of how the team currently uses AI tools in day-to-day community operations? I'm curious about the balance between automation and human touch.
Growth trajectory β How does this role evolve over 12-18 months? Would there be opportunities to build and lead a larger community team as DEV scales?
I haven't been on DEV for years, but I've been following it very closely for the past few months. I'm also building SHALA, a supportive agent for human. This role feels like a natural fit for someone who cares about both developer culture and operational execution.

@jess Hey Jess! I have a question about the cover letter.
Since MLH acquired DEV and that the job posting is in the MLH career site, would the cover letter be referring to MLH and the person that is reading the cover letter be you? I looked through the MLH official website, LinkedIn, and other places but wasn't able to conclude on who is going to read it specifically.
Is it only for US-based candidates? Asking for a friend π
You can work remotely as long as you can manage plenty of U.S. east coast timezone overlap.
