Firechat started because my friend and I had a problem: we wanted to talk freely without worrying about screenshots, saved messages, or conversations sitting in someone's cloud forever.
WhatsApp has features, sure. But they're not secure by default. You have to enable things. You have to trust things. You have to hope the other person respects your privacy.
We didn't want to hope. We wanted to know.
So I built Firechat. Just for us, initially. Then I thought—what if others are dealing with this too? What if people want conversations that feel genuinely free?
